Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Still No Seat Sharing Formula for DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu
  • 5 years ago
Hammering the last nail in the Mahagahtbandhan coffin, Mayawati negated all possibilities of having any sort of alliance the congress in any state. The BSP and SP have already sidelined the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, leaving the Congress to fend for itself. The situation in Bengal too is not promising, as TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee has ruled out any alliance with Rahul Gandhi. Ever since the TDP-Congress combine received a royal drubbing in Telangana assembly polls, Chandrababu Naidu is keeping his options open, and has stayed away from announcing any seat sharing formula with the Congress in Andhra Pradesh. And while the DMK Chief Stalin has time and again backed Rahul for the Prime Minister's post, a formal seat sharing deal has still not been announced in Tamil Nadu as well. A number of permutations and combinations are being discussed between the JDS and the Congress in Karnataka, but sceptics are wary of the JDS-Congress alliance, in case results skew in favour the BJP.
