How many teeth do we have?

Our teeth are quite important. And it's crucial to take care of them meticulously. But how many teeth do we really have? As a child we only have 20 teeth, that will all fall out between five and seven. Ten on top and ten on the bottom.
Adults on the other hand have 32 teeth. Eight incisors, these are the front four teeth. Four canines or cuspids. Eight premolars, they are between the cuspids and the molars. They are ment to cut and tear up the food. Twelve molars: eight on the bottom and eight on top. This includes the wisdom teeth that are usually removed.
The molars are usually meant to chew the food before it's swallowed.
