Glass ceiling for women to become top executives is high in S. Korea
  • 5 years ago
A recent report shows that the corporate glass ceiling is still high for women in South Korea.
According to data by corporate tracker 'CEO Score' on Wednesday,… only around one out of every one-hundred executives at South Korea's top 30 conglomerates is female.
The report says that as of the end of September last year,… only 21 female directors were leading business groups,... a mere 1-point-3 percent of the 1-thousand-2-hundred C-suite positions in the top conglomerates.
While the number has shown a small increase from a year earlier,… it was dwarfed by figures in the United States and other advanced nations.
The recent report by U.S. business magazine Fortune shows that the top 100 global companies had nearly 3-hundred female executives,... accounting for 24-point-3 percent of some 1-thousand-2-hundred positions.
