U.S. remains in regular contact with North Korea: State Department

Washington says it remains in regular contact with Pyeongyang even after the Hanoi summit that abruptly ended as the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
During a regular press briefing on Tuesday local time, U.S. State Department deputy spokesperson Robert Palladino said that progress had been made at the Hanoi summit but no further meetings between the two sides have been planned yet.
Saying Pyeongyang and Washington remain in contact,... the deputy spokesperson declined to comment on specific diplomatic channels with North Korea.
Palladino added that although Kim and Trump did not reach an agreement,... the two sides were able to exchange very detailed positions which have narrowed the gap on a number of issues regarding North Korea's denuclearization and corresponding measures from the U.S.
