Former Trump White House Lawyer Ty Cobb Just Called Mueller An 'American Hero'

Ty Cobb doesn't seem to share President Trump's view of Robert Mueller.
Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb recently called special counsel Robert Mueller "an American hero." In an interview for the latest installment of the ABC News' podcast 'The Investigation,' Cobb expressed disapproval of the Russia investigation-related response strategy being employed by President Trump and a number of lawyers, past and present. "They have ratcheted up the public's concerns about the investigation and its legitimacy," Cobb commented. "I object to that approach. But it's his choice. He's the president." "I think Bob Mueller's an American hero. I think Bob Mueller's a guy that even though he came from an arguably privileged background, you know, has a backbone of steel," Cobb further noted. "He walked into a firefight in Vietnam to pull out one of his injured colleagues and was appropriately honored for that...He is a very deliberate guy. And he — but he's also a class act. And a very justice-oriented person." The former White House lawyer also noted: "I don't feel the investigation is a witch hunt." Trump, of course, does not share that view of the probe. "The Mueller investigation is totally conflicted, illegal and rigged!" Trump wrote in a tweet last month. "Should never have been allowed to begin, except for the Collusion and many crimes committed by the Democrats. Witch Hunt!"
He noted in another: "The Fake News Media builds Bob Mueller up as a Saint, when in actuality he is the exact opposite. He is doing TREMENDOUS damage to our Criminal Justice System, where he is only looking at one side and not the other."
