S. Korea's consumer prices edge up 0.5% in February, slowest increase in 30 months

South Korea's consumer prices rose at their slowest pace in two-and-a-half years last month... mainly due to a drop in international oil prices.
According to Statistics Korea on Tuesday, consumer prices increased by just half-a-percent on-year in February.
The rate of increase has been sub one-percent for two straight months.
The agency said a slump was seen in the price of petroleum goods...citing the drop in international oil prices.
Another reason was lower vegetable prices compared to a year earlier...due to a base effect.
