As we speak, President Moon Jae-in is hosting a luncheon at the Blue House for the descendants of Korean independence fighters who currently live abroad.
About 80 people are in attendance,... 65 of them descendants of freedom fighters were invited to the Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae.
The descendants include but are not limited to Koreans living in the U.S., China, Japan, Russia, and Brazil.
President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook greeted each of them at the door.
The Top Office said the event is taking place in light of the centennial anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement and to express the nation's gratitude to its heroes and their families living overseas.
