Earthquake jolts NE: Home Minister Rajnath Singh takes stock of quake in North East

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) has been sent for rescue operations to quake hit north eastern parts of the country. A National Crisis Management Committee meeting is scheduled to take place at 10.30 AM to assess the situation after earthquake. Singh also spoke to Assam Chief Minister and Manipur Chief Secretary of the region and took stock of the situation in the state. A Home Ministry spokesperson said that the National Crisis Management Committee, headed by the Cabinet Secretary, is holding a meeting to review the situation.
