No demolition without rehabilitation now: Delhi CM after meeting Prabhu

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday no shanties will be razed without prior rehabilitation of people after he met railway minister Suresh Prabhu amid allegations that an infant died in the demolition of a slum built on railway land. “It has been decided that from now on, no slum would be demolished anywhere in Delhi,” Kejriwal said. “First, people living in the slums will be rehabilitated peacefully, then the vacant land will be handed over to the railways,” he added.
