There's a massive twist to the Amethi Land Grab Row. In what is seen as a setback to the Gandhis, a SDM Court has declared that the controversial land belonged to the state agency and not the Rajiv Trust as claimed by the Congress. It has come to light that the land that was only given to Samrat Cycles in 1983 on lease for a period of 90 years and thus the company had no ownerhsip right to auction it. This also nullified Rajiv Trust's claims over the land that brought the plot from Samrat Cycles.
