Health of colonel on OROP fast deteriorates, in hospital

The one rank, one pension (OROP) controversy flared up further on Monday after one of the ex-servicemen on hunger strike being rushed to the hospital. Colonel Pushpendra Singh, who was on a hunger strike for the past eight days demanding the implementation of OROP, was rushed to the Army Research and Referral Hospital after his ketone levels shot up. The 62-year-old retired officer from 3 Grenadiers has seen active duty in both northeast and Kashmir in counter-insurgency operations.
