India's premier institutes IITs have lowered their bar to fill the Reserved category seats. After students failed to make the cut off limit of 8.8%, the management decided to further lower it to 6.1%. compare this to 24.5 % which the General Category students have to achieve in order to get though the hallowed gate of India's IITs. While the IIT Management says that it's a must for the IITs to fill the reserved seats, this has again pushed the reservation debate to the forefront.
