Jayalalithaa files nomination to get re-elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly

AIADMK MLA representing RK Nagar, P Vetrivel, had resigned to make way for Jayalalithaa. According to rules, Jaya has to get elected as MLA within six months or she won't be able to hold on to CM's chair. Interestingly, the main opposition party, DMK, has given given Jayalalithaa a free run in the bypoll by opting not to contest. Meanwhile the AIADMK is not taking any chances and has already put a team in place to do door to door campaigning. Former CM O Paneerselvam has already begun reaching out to the voters.
