Just weeks back, the Supreme Court had banned state government from using Advertisements for Propaganda purpose, Banning relase of government ads with photos of party leaders. Clearly the ruling has little effect on ground. Clear proof emerges where Chief Ministers of 2 states have come out with full size ads in National Dailies with their pictures, defying the law. CM Jayalalithaa and CM Akhilesh Yadav can be seen prominently in the ad flouting the Supreme Court ruling.
