Briefing the media on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to China till now, foreign secretary S Jaishankar said, "PM Modi said, when it comes to our relations, there was no question of going back but standing still was also not an option. We need to build higher levels of trust and move on outstanding issues.

We have issues and we must address them, but doesn't make us ignore the possibilities we have." When asked why e-visas were not announced during the joint statement, Jaishankar says, "You may have reported it but we haven't decided anything on it yet."
