After NewsX's expose on a majority BJP MPs among the pro-tobacco lobby possibly leading to Centre's U-turn on tobacco legislation, the Prime Minister has stepped in to contain the damage. Prime Minister has now directed the health ministry to increase the pictorial warning size to 60-65% of the tobacco product, as was proposed earlier. Modi has also intervened saying the MPs having conflict of interest in the parliamentary panels will be removed. In keeping with the PM's orders, Shayam charan Gupta has been summoned to Delhi on centre's summons and is likely to resign shortly.
