Election Commission Notice to 6 Parties on Poll Expenditure: Six political parties, including Aam Aadmi Party, have been issued showcause notices as to why their recognition should not be cancelled for their failure to file their expenditure statements for last Lok Sabha polls. The other parties which have been sent notices are Haryana Janhit Congress (BL), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Kerala Congress (M), National People’s Party and People’s party of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Your representation in writing, giving detailed reasons for the default should reach the office of the Commission within 20 days from the date of receipt of this notice,” the EC has told these six parties.
