All-party meet ahead of Budget session to reach consensus on key legislations

Budget Session: A day before the crucial Budget session, the Narendra government has decide to reach out to opposition parties and there will be two all-party meetings to explore consensus on passing key legislations, including bills to replace ordinances on land acquisition and mining.

The first meeting is called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the second one by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

The meeting comes even as the Communist Party and activist groups including Anna Hazare are set to protest against the Land Ordinance accusing it of being anti-farmer.
