RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata: Woman shoved by hospital superintendent for not paying bribe, dies

A woman died at the RG Kar Medical College on Sunday morning after she was allegedly shoved by an attendant for refusing to pay a bribe. The incident triggered unrest at the hospital as relatives of the patients and others blocked the road in front of the hospital protesting against alleged extortion racket running inside the hospital. Patient's relatives alleged that they had been facing demands for extra money at every step, while the Director of Medical Education has sought an enquiry report from the hospital superintendent.
