Gita Gopinath Joins IMF as First Female Chief Economist | जानिए कौन है यह भारतीय महिला ?

Mysore-born Gita Gopinath has joined International Monetary Fund as its chief economist, becoming the first woman to occupy the top IMF post. Ms Gopinath's joined last week at a time, when she believes the world is experiencing a retreat from globalisation, posing challenges to multilateral institutions.

केरल सरकार की आर्थिक सलाहकार और जानीमानी शिक्षाविद गीता गोपीनाथ को अंतराष्‍ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) का प्रमुख अर्थशास्‍त्री नियुक्‍त किया गया है। आईएमएफ में इस पद पर पहुंचने वाली गीता दूसरी भारतीय हैं। इनसे पहले भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के पूर्व गवर्नर रघुराम राजन भी IMF में प्रमुख अर्थशास्‍त्री रह चुके हैं।
