मध्यप्रदेश में दिवाली के बाद मढ़ई मेले शुरू हो जाते हैं। मढ़ई एक तरह के छोटे मेले को कहा जाता है। लेकिन इन मेलों की खासियत होती है इनमें होने वाले अहिरी नृत्य का कॉम्पिटीशन। जी हां, जगह-जगह चौराहों पर पारम्परिक आदिवासी अहिरी नृत्य का नज़ारा बेहद दिलचस्प होता है।
