Parliament was brought to a grinding halt as the opposition parties united in demanding Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti’s resignation. The Trinamool Congress says it won’t settle for anything less than the minister’s resignation. The SP, on the other hand, demanded a resolution condemning the minister for her hate speech. The government, meanwhile, continued to back the minister, saying she has apologised for her remarks
