Three people were killed in a clash that took place between Trinamool Congress and BJP supporters in Birbhum, West Bengal on Monday.

Out of the three killed, two were TMC workers and one was a BJP supporter, according to reports. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in the Makra village of Birbhum district, where the violence took place. Many villagers have also reportedly fled the area.

This violent incident comes days after assailants hurled bombs at three policemen, including the officer-in-charge of a West Bengal police station, in Birbhum last week.

The incident took place on Friday in Birbhum district's Panrui village when a police team led by officer-in-charge Prasenjit Dutta raided a hideout in the area where crude bombs were allegedly stored.
