Silent protest in Kolkata: Will Mamata arrest BJP killers?

In political clashes that took a violent turn, three people have been killed as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party workers clashed in Birbhum in West Bengal. One victim is a BJP worker while the other two are TMC supporters.
No arrests have been made so far in connection with the clashes. However, Rapid Action Force has been deployed in the area and a strong contingent of police personnel under Additional Superintendent of Police Ananda Roy visited the spot on Monday.
Trading charges, ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP have blamed each other for the violence. The BJP workers have claimed that they were stopping armed TMC cadres from taking over the village.
Makra village is adjacent to Chakmondola where the officer-in-charge of Parui police station was attacked during a raid on October 24. Parui police station officer-in-charge Prosenjit Dutta and three other policemen were injured when they raided Chakmondola village following reports that bombs were being manufactured there. Bombs were thrown at the police personnel during the raid.
A team of local BJP leaders was on Sunday stopped by the police from entering Chakmondola village on the ground that prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC had been imposed there.
