Air India fails to rescue fliers even after 24 hours
  • 5 years ago
As many as 183 passengers had never bargained for such a bizarre experience when they booked tickets on an Air India flight to Delhi from Pune on October 16. The plane was stuck for over 20 hours at Pune Airport on Thursday and Friday due to a technical snag and scores of passengers, including children, were stranded for more than 24 hours without proper meals. Finally, they boarded the flight at 4 pm on Friday — as it taxied down the runway, it came to a halt and was cancelled for good.

The incident comes on the back of recent revelations that the airline has been struggling for five years to avail of minimum space at the airport to store spares. At the moment, AI has to outsource them from Mumbai, indicating such issues may recur.
