Delhi deadlock continues, Supreme Court adjourns hearing on AAP plea to October 10
  • 5 years ago
The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal's petition challenging the President's Rule in Delhi to October 10.

The apex court also refused to consider an affidavit entered by AAP on the sting video it released on Monday which implicated a senior BJP leader for trying to bribe an MLA in Delhi to resign from his position.

In the hearing on Monday, the Centre was expected to make its stand clear on inviting the BJP to form the government or announcing fresh polls to end the seven-month deadlock in the national capital.

The apex court on August 5 had issued an ultimatum to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and the Centre to resolve the deadlock within five weeks. It had also slammed them for keeping the Assembly in suspended animation after no party came forward to form the government.
