SC dismisses plea on appointment of criminal netas
  • 5 years ago
Supreme Court today refused plea on the appointment of criminal netas and left the decision to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wisdom. Now PM Narendra Modi has to decide who he wants to appoint in his cabinet.

The court also expressed the hope that the PM Modi will not appoint any person having criminal cases in his cabinet. It will be decided by PM and Chief Ministers only and they should not include the persons with criminal antecedents in their cabinet.

Initially in 2004, the PIL was dismissed after being discussed in the parliament when a petitioner sought the removal of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mohammed Taslimuddin, MAA Fatmi and Jai Prakash Yadav from the Congress-led UPA government at the time.
