Rajapaksa rejects UN probe into alleged war crimes
  • 5 years ago
Sri Lanka will deny visas to United Nations' investigators probing accusations of war crimes as it strengthens a domestic panel looking into allegations related to its 26-year war, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said on Tuesday.
Rajapaksa's first direct comments on the topic come a week after UN Human Rights chief Navi Pillay said that even though Colombo had refused to cooperate, the U.N. probe could still go ahead as there was a wealth of information outside the country.
