Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday met Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan over the issue of Communal Violence Bill.


The bill was scheduled to discuss in Lok Sabha on Monday but it didn’t happen and it has least chances to be discussed on Tuesday.


Congress alleged that Centre is deliberately not placing the bill for discussion in the Lower House.


BJP had opposed the bill in past saying that it was “highly discriminatory” and aimed at polarising the country on communal lines.


Congress had accused BJP of creating a communal divide in parts of Uttar Pradesh where bye-elections are due in the wake of recent poll debacle in Uttarakhand.
