AAP decides not to contest State Assembly Polls
  • 5 years ago
The state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party has decided not to contest the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, saying they have not been able to make inroads in either the rural or urban pockets.

Sources said the decision came after the state unit took stock of the situation following their resounding defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in May, where the party managed to bag a mere 2.2 per cent votes across the state. Sources said even grassroots level workers felt the party was not ready to contest the assembly polls.
