Congress openly reveals unhappiness with NC

The Congress today formally ended its partnership with the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, saying it would "fight the forthcoming coming election on our own strength". Assembly polls in the state are due in November.

"We will put up candidates or support candidates whom we want to support, independent or anybody in all the 87 states," said senior Congress leader Ambika Soni in Jammu, in the presence of former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
