Centre tells Supreme Court, no inquiry in Snoopgate

No inquiry will be conducted into the snoopgate scandal involving Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, the Centre told the Supreme Court on Friday. The court has asked the petitioner, the father of the girl to approach the Gujarat High Court, challenging the setting up of a commission of inquiry into the case.
Congress had earlier this week said that the government had decided to drop its move to name a judge to head the commission set up to probe 'snoopgate', as it did not want to give an impression of political vendetta to go around as suggested by the allies.
