Karunanidhi backs decision to give Raja LS ticket

The DMK's candidate from Nilgiris constituency in the upcoming elections has managed to stay out of headlines for some time now, but A Raja managed to make it to the first list of the party's candidates while even Karunanidhi's son MK Alagiri has been left hanging for now. The DMK released its first list of candidates for 35 seats that it will be contesting and it featured 2G scam prime accused and former telecom minister A Raja, Dayanidhi Maran and six others who are already MPs in the Lok Sabha. Of the 40 constituencies (39 in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry), the DMK has allotted five seats in Tamil Nadu to its four allies.
