Authorities at Mumbai airport on Thursday night grounded a Boeing 777 of American carrier United Airlines after engineers found one of its engine covers missing, sources said on Friday.

Flight UA-48 from Newark to Mumbai arrived at 10 pm on Thursday and was being prepared for the return flight when ground engineers found the right engine cowl missing. The crew informed the Air Traffic Control and cancelled the flight.
