Coming close on the heels of his suspension from the party, the stage is set for the 63rd birthday bash of former Union Minister M K Alagiri on January 30 with his die-hard loyalists and supporters gearing up for the celebration at Madurai, his political forte.

This would come as a show of strength to send out a strong message to the DMK high command that the party's Southern satrap still enjoys the support of a majority of the party men here.
