Bihar floor test: Newly formed JD(U)-BJP government to prove majority today
  • 5 years ago
On Thursday, after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 6th time, Nitish Kumar is all set to face the trust vote in the Assembly today in a daylong session starting from 11 AM. On the other side, once a part of ‘mahagathbandhan’, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD which had earlier claimed a support of many legislators from JD(U), currently struggles for the conscience vote.
Nitish Kumar who is back in power with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claims to enjoy a support of at least 132 legislators in an assembly of 243 members.
Many RJD leaders were missing from the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar as the CM by allying with BJP, saying that the Governor did not take note of the request of calling the single largest party to form the government in the state.
