With a few days left for the Assembly polls, Congress MP Uday Pratap Singh from Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh has joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The change could effect the prospects of the Congress in the state in the general election, which is already struggling to make its stronghold in Madhya Pradesh after it lost the state to the BJP in the year 2003.
