Are political parties provoking students in Ramjas College row. President of India, Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday intervened on the ongoing debate of nationalism and freedom of speech that followed the ruckus at the Ramjas College campus. While addressing a conference in Kochi, President Mukherjee said that there is “No room in India for the intolerant Indian”. He even said that in universities or colleges students “Must engage in reasoned discussion and debate rather than propagate a culture of unrest”. He even said that it is ‘’tragic’’ to see students being “caught in the vortex of violence and disquiet’’.
