The actor turned politician Vijayakanth's party DMDK is likely to contest Delhi's assembly election in 5 constituencies, where a large number of Tamil population reside.

This could help the congress party to minimise some damages in the poll, because of AAP entry into election fray. There are also rumours that with the instance of Congress, Vijayakanth is keen to field some representative from his party to split the vote not to reach either AAP or BJP in some constituencies where Tamil voters are strong.
