Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing a rally in Jalandhar city to boost Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – SAD (Shiromani Akali Dal) led poll campaign in poll-bound Punjab.

PM Modi is slated to address two different rallies, one in Jalandhar and the other in Ludhiana on January 29.

BJP’s Punjab manifesto focuses good governance, development, education, healthcare and on implantation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

In another rally not so far from Jalandhar, the Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi hits out on Badal government saying that the Badals have restored family monopoly in the state.

"Wherever you go in Punjab, you will only find buses of the Badal family to travel," said Rahul Gandhi. Captain Amarinder Singh will be Punjab’s upcoming chief minister, he added.
