Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a fresh case in the coal block allocation scam against industrialist Kumarmanglam Birla and former coal secretary P C Parekh.

CBI has also named aluminium rolling company Hindalco in the FIR. This is the 14th case lodged by the CBI in the coal scam. The accused have been booked for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

CBI has alleged that the accused company was wrongfully allocated the Talabira II coal block in Jasukuda district of Orissa in 2005.

The investigation agency is conducting searches in Delhi, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar and Mumbai.
