NewsX : Gujarat Police to take Asaram Bapu to Ahmedabad for questioning today

A district and sessions court here allowed the Gujarat police custody of self-styled godman Asaram (72) for interrogation in connection with a sexual assault case lodged against him and his son by two Surat-based sisters.
Extending judicial custody for Asaram and four others for 14 days, judge Manok Kumar Vyas directed Jodhpur Central Jail authorities to ensure that the five accused appeared in court on October 25, said counsel for the victims.
The Surat police had registered two complaints — one against Asaram and the other against son Narayan Sai — of rape, sexual assault and illegal confinement, among other charges.
