NewsX: Seemandhra Congress leaders vow to defeat Telangana statehood

Hyderabad: Congress ministers and legislators from Seemandhra have resolved to defeat the Union Cabinet's resolution on granting statehood to the Telangana region when it is introduced in the state assembly. Passing a resolution by the assembly is not mandatory for formation of a state.
S Sailajanath, state minister and convenor of Seemandhra Congress Legislators' Forum, disclosed this on Friday after a meeting of at least 17 ministers and 40 legislators with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad.
