Delhi: Dengue claims 7 lives in 3 days, over 400 cases reported

New Delhi: There has been a rise in dengue cases in the national capital in the past one week. Seven people have died while 430 cases have been reported in the past three days alone according to the MCD.

The total number now stands at a whopping 2,557 cases. "It's a regular trend that we are seeing. Every third year the cases spike," MCD spokesperson Mukesh Yadav said.

Till September in 2012, only 68 cases were reported and the figure was 230 in September 2011. In September 2010, however, the figure was 3,201 cases. In 2010, the month of October alone had more than 2,000 cases.
