In an attempt to set the example, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi (96) on Tuesday went to bank to get her demonetised currency exchanged. Heeraben Modi went to the Oriental Bank of Commerce in Gandhinagar and exchanged Rs 4500.

Wearing a white cotton sari, Heerabaa, in her 90s, reached the bank a week after Modi spiked all 500 and 1,000 rupee notes. She later showed a new 2,000 rupee note to journalists.
