NewsX: Star, ESPN bag BCCI sponsorship rights for 2013-14 season

The BCCI have announced their new sponsors for domestic matches to be played in India. Star India who also own the broadcast rights have been confirmed as the new sponsors. But the deal is worth significantly less than before.
The BCCI had invited new bids from corporate houses after existing series title sponsors - telecom major Airtel -decided against renewing their association with the Board.
Star were the only bidders and have secured a deal for the next 13 matches at a price of 2 crore per match the base price.
This is a dramatic fall from the 3-year Airtel deal which was worth 3.33 crore per match.
