Worst is not yet over for thousands in Uttarakhand after the Himalayan deluge washed away their homes and loved ones. Some empathy, relief and financial help was the least they needed to gather their torn pieces together. But the compensation announced by the Uttarakhand govt came across as a cruel joke. The cheques issued amount to an insult rather than help.
