News X : RAF Jawan alleged rape attempt- GJVM calls for a day long bandh

A Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawan allegedly tried to rape a schoolgirl in the tourist town of Ghoom, 16km from Darjeeling in West Bengal on Saturday.
As news spread locals clashed with police, firebombed a police outpost and torched a state bus, forcing security forces to fire seven rounds in the air.
Police also lathicharged mediapersons, injuring a reporter. The situation remained tense till late night with mobs throwing brick at police at several places.
