Speak Out India : Can BCCI claim to have acted against Impropriety?

The former golden boy of the BCCI and the brain child behind IPL Lalit Modi has been handed a life bann for financial irregularities at his time and that too by his former employees of BCCI. The Indian cricket board's Special General Meeting (SGM) to be convened is ostensibly to oust Lalit Modi from the BCCI, but the implications could be far-reaching.

The SGM has been called on an urgent basis with one objective — a show of strength for president-in-exile N Srinivasan ahead of the AGM. The BCCI supremo needs 21 votes out of 30 to ensure Modi's ouster, following the disciplinary committee report which found Modi guilty of financial irregularities.
