Kairana exodus: BJP MP Hukum Singh makes a U-turn, says it is not a communal issue

BJP MP Hukum Singh, whose allegation of a Hindu exodus from Uttar Pradesh's Kairana area in Shamli district snowballed into a major controversy, today made a U-turn and said the people leaving their homes was not a communal matter. "The list had both Hindu and Muslim names. This is not a Hindu-Muslim situation... This is not a communal matter," Singh told news agency ANI, attacking the Akhilesh Yadav government for communalising the issue.
